The Logitech Revolution MX has 9 customizable controls to take advantage of. What I’ve done is set the left-side thumb controls as my volume control and arrow buttons as previous and next track for Windows Media Player.
To do this open SetPoint Settings from the Start menu and set the following mouse configuration:

2. Right click

HP have failed miserably with its QuickPlay entertainment suite integrated in all HP Pavilion models. Do as I have and just dump it.
